GENERAL FUNCTION: The Managing Director is a player/coach, maintaining and growing their own portfolio while providing leadership, direction, and supervision to a team of Corporate Banking Directors, Principals, Associates, and Analysts. This leader ensures coordination of due diligence and workflow of team members to ensure compliance with standards and timely completion. The position involves soliciting participations in public debt issuance and must be approved by the Managing Director Committee. Responsible for risk management by openly exchanging ideas, elevating concerns, and following policies and procedures. Ensures actions and behaviors promote a positive customer experience and operate within the Bank's risk appetite. Achieves results by identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage client relationships for maximum profit potential based on client needs. Develop profitable new business, cross-sell applicable Fifth Third products, and manage the sales process in a designated geographic area for commercial real estate loans. Deliver value-added financial solutions to clients to enhance their business. Develop and mentor Directors, Principals, Associates, and Analysts. Maintain profitable commercial loan volume. Build and sustain important client relationships. Identify and convert businesses to establish or strengthen banking relationships with Fifth Third. Develop in-depth knowledge of all customer businesses. Underwrite credit requests and approve loans within limits or recommend higher approvals. Monitor customer performance and industry trends to manage risk. Identify and pursue significant sales opportunities. Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and local market developments. Coordinate client-facing activities, including credit support and product offerings like Treasury Management. Participate in community and industry events to expand networks and knowledge. Support Capital Markets by assessing securities and capital markets services suitability for clients. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide timely, constructive feedback; develop employees; recognize achievements; ensure talent pool and succession planning. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED: Undergraduate degree required; graduate degree preferred. 8-10+ years in Banking, Investment Banking, M&A, or Capital Markets. 8+ years sales management experience. At least 3 years at Director II level. Strong credit and corporate finance skills; underwriting experience preferred. Excellent client relationship, marketing, presentation, sales, negotiation, and analytical skills. Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 79, and 63 licenses required; Series 24 preferred. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. This position is located in Cincinnati, Ohio.
