Overview: William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company, is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Design Build Manager to enhance our team. This pivotal role focuses on overseeing the planning, design, and execution of civil construction projects. You will coordinate among design and construction teams to ensure timely completion, budget adherence, and compliance with quality standards. Location & Travel Details: This position can be remote with travel requirements of up to 25% based on business demands. Candidates should reside in Missouri or possess familiarity with the Missouri market. Our capabilities cover general heavy civil construction, electrical work, roadways, bridges, and more. Responsibilities: Project Management: Lead the development of design-build proposals. Manage the design-build process from conception to the design phase. Create project timelines, budgets, and resource plans. Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as necessary. Motivate design consultants to innovate while maintaining cost-effectiveness. Lead constructability review efforts with design and construction teams.
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor project engineers, architects, and construction staff. Facilitate communication between design and construction teams for alignment. Assemble and lead high-performing multi-discipline project teams. Encourage a collaborative and productive work environment. Provide guidance and mentorship to team members.
Design Oversight: Review and approve design plans for compliance and quality. Collaborate with architects and engineers for cost-effective designs. Maintain strong relationships with design partners and client agencies. Serve as the primary contact for clients and design partners. Provide stakeholders with regular project updates and solutions to challenges. Manage client expectations and promote satisfaction.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure project compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations. Promote a culture of safety and implement safety protocols on job sites. Prepare and manage project budgets, monitoring expenses and variances. Negotiate contracts with subcontractors to optimize project costs.
Risk Management: Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project execution. Address and resolve issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. 10+ years of civil construction management experience, particularly in design-build projects. Familiarity with state Department of Transportation processes. Strong knowledge of construction methods and legal regulations. Proficient in project management software and tools.
