The role you'll contribute:

The Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Educator, under the direction of the Regional Director of Clinical Documentation Integrity for West Florida division, designs, plans, and executes initiatives and processes in collaboration with providers for Clinical Documentation Integrity. Central to this role is education, guidance, and direction of key responsibilities (e.g. corporate compliance, quality outcome measures and documentation integrity management) to Clinical Documentation Specialists, which includes Clinical Documentation Integrity onboarding and support. Additionally, the CDI Educator assists with data reporting to monitor compliance and provides process improvement recommendations.

As a Clinical Documentation Integrity Educator, this individual works collaboratively within the Clinical Documentation Integrity teams to ensure the successful implementation of all Clinical Documentation Integrity applications utilized by WFD. This position provides the Clinical Documentation Integrity team with expertise on system use specific to documentation integrity. The position provides feedback and recommendations to the Regional Clinical Documentation Integrity Director that promotes process improvement initiatives while maintaining regulatory compliance.

The value you'll bring to the team:

  • Develops, produces, and delivers training for Clinical Documentation Integrity on an ongoing basis. This includes but is not limited to New Hire Clinical Documentation Integrity training, Clinical Documentation Integrity Preceptor Program, and monthly team education.
  • Audits new Clinical Documentation Integrity members during their 90-day probationary period, presenting written and verbal updates to the Clinical Documentation Integrity Manager and Clinical Documentation Integrity Director as appropriate.
  • Provides additional education based on results of audits and feedback for the 90 Day Evaluation.
  • Performs random audits on Clinical Documentation Integrity concurrent cases to assist with missed documentation opportunities.

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing for Registered Nurses.
  • International medical graduates (IMGs) must hold degrees from a medical school recognized by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
  • Experience in acute care facility with clinical practice five years minimum.
