Company Overview:

Redmond Construction Company is a commercial construction general contractor with self-perform capabilities in commercial/industrial, interior construction/renovation, civil, concrete, industrial, government & general trades. Join us as we contract in the Huntsville market and expand to opportunities in North Alabama!

Position Overview:

As the Commercial Construction Estimator/Project Manager, you will be engaged in business development, estimating, purchasing, project setup, ongoing project management and project closeout. You will also work closely with team members and participate in meetings, and work with the Office Manager on project accounts receivable and accounts payable actions.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development for commercial construction projects
Maintaining/nurturing designer relations with architects and engineers
Building new client relationships
Estimating for commercial construction contracting projects using standard estimating templates following estimating procedure, soliciting and preparing bid submission documents based on specifications
Managing Project Startup including bonds, insurance, estimate preparation and reviews, creation of new project, schedule management, SOV set up, and billing and purchasing
Ongoing Project Management Activities including working with team members, managing changes/pricing (RFIs and addendums), tracking costs, submitting change/work orders, scheduling meetings, and preparing general correspondence
Project Closeout including requesting and completing the final punch list, finalizing contract amounts, reviewing w/management, and closing out with subcontracts
Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable

Qualification Requirements:

Formal Education in Construction Field Preferred (Building Science or Construction Management Degree)
Commercial Construction experience (a minimum of 10 years experience is preferred)
Lead a Department or Worked as an Turnkey Estimator for a Commercial General Contractor
Start as an Estimator to learn systems, policies, clients, and repeat subcontractors
Redstone Arsenal access is a plus
Project Management Skills
OSHA 30 Certification is preferred
Bilingual is preferred

Competencies:

PDF Reader (Bluebeam for Takeoffs)
ExctTime for Timecards (or similar system)
Archisnapper for Document Management (or similar system)
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to manage repeat customers
Ability to deal with low-bid projects
Ability to present yourself in a professional manner
Be involved in professional organizations
Represent the company in a respectful manner
Ability to work collaboratively with team members, clients and subcontractors

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands, walk, and use stairs. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
