Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our pre-construction team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial site development projects, including site work, underground utilities, roadways, and related scopes. Compensation: $85,000 - $140,000 Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: Review project plans, specifications, and documents to prepare detailed cost estimates. Perform quantity take-offs for earthwork, utilities, grading, and site improvements. Solicit pricing from vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers. Analyze project requirements, risks, and timelines to prepare competitive bids. Collaborate with the owner, project managers, and field teams to support budgeting and project execution. Maintain and update historical cost data and estimating templates. Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed. Assist in value engineering, scope clarifications, and change order pricing. Willingness to call on General Contractors to expand our customers and solicit new opportunities to get work, if needed. Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in commercial site development or civil construction. Proficient in estimating software (e.g., HCSS, HeavyBid, PlanSwift, or similar). Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and civil drawings. Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills. Knowledge of excavation, grading, utility installation, and site work practices. Strong written and verbal communication. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (but not required with proven experience).
