Tern Construction & Development, Inc. (Tern Construction) is a diversified general contracting firm located in Somers, New York. Tern Construction has active construction projects throughout New York State. To date, Tern Construction has successfully completed commercial and residential projects valued at over $300 million. Although Tern Construction is active in numerous fields, there is a strong concentration on multi-family new construction.
Primary Responsibilities/Duties:
Communicate with Owner/Development regarding construction schedules
Manage initial start-up of new construction projects, including, but not limited to:
-Break-out of specifications
-File creation
-Creating and distributing modified templates and schedules
-Ordering Project Sign, Trailer, First-Aid, etc
Draft Purchase Orders based on approved quotes/proposals and manage the execution process
Draft Subcontractor contracts based on approved proposals and manage the execution process
Draft Company to Subcontractor change orders based on approved proposals and manage the execution process
Manage Company's server files to ensure all plans, contracts, AIAs, change orders, etc. have been uploaded correctly
Generate Company to Owner Change Orders
Tracking and validating Subcontractor's insurance
Maintain Waiver of Lien Log
Quarterly and Job Completion Reporting
Maintain organized project files and records
Manage close-out of projects
Experience:
- Proven experience in construction administration or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, terminology, and best practices.
- Proficiency in project coordination and time management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Knowledge of project scheduling techniques and tools.
