Having been in business for the past almost 50 years, this residential real estate developer is one of the most prolific in their sectors. They are a full service firm that has development, construction, property management, and an investment arm, all under one roof. The appeal of working for a company like this would be joining the owner side. You will manage the GC or the tenant's GC when it comes to the retail portion of their portfolio. Whether street level, or tenant offices, these retail projects are run a Project Manager, and they are looking for a new one!
Your new role
As an Assistant Project Manager with this development firm, you will be tasked with managing and overseeing the ongoing retail construction across the tri-state portfolio. You will be support by one of the current Project Managers until you are ready to run things on your own! They are definitely not looking for just a paper-pusher or someone to take orders. They are looking for someone who understands construction and is excited to manage it from the owner's side, rather than just the job site trailer.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience working for a General Contractor or Real Estate Developer.
- Construction-related degree (Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, etc.).
- 10+ years in construction project management.
- Retail project experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to make observations on site and handle the situation accordingly.
- Ability to travel to properites across the Greater NYC Area.
