Ascension Global Staffing & Executive Search is seeking Construction Litigation Associate with 2 +years of civil/commercial litigation and/or construction experience to join our client's construction department. Construction law experience, particularly in construction defect and/or construction related litigation generally, is preferred. Excellent academic credentials are required, along with courtroom and deposition experience. Self-starter with strong communication, drafting and research skills required. As an Associate Construction Attorney, you will be integral in providing legal guidance and support in construction law matters. Reporting to the senior legal team, you will leverage your core skills in legal research, drafting, and communication to navigate complex legal issues. With a focus on litigation and construction-related disputes, you will contribute to the firm's success by ensuring compliance with regulations and protecting client interests. Conduct legal research and analysis on construction law matters. Draft and review legal documents, contracts, and agreements related to construction projects. Assist in litigation processes, including preparing pleadings and motions. Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders. Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Stay updated on changes in construction law and related legal areas.
Key Responsibilities Manage a caseload of construction litigation matters from inception to resolution under the supervision of partners. Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, and memoranda of law. Take and defend depositions, including of parties, witnesses, and experts. Appear in court for hearings, status conferences, and motion arguments. Assist in trial preparation and participate in trials, arbitrations, and mediations as needed. Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams. Stay current on developments in commercial and business litigation law. Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school. Admitted to practice in Florida; federal court admission preferred. 4+ years of commercial litigation experience, preferably at a law firm. Strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills. Experience handling discovery, motion practice, and depositions. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Team player with a strong work ethic and a desire to grow professionally.
