Job Description
As the Construction Department Manager, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers responsible for building the largest and most advanced semiconductor facilities in the United States. This critical role requires a deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and process construction scopes, as well as strong leadership and planning skills to ensure timely delivery, safety, and quality of projects. You will collaborate closely with design teams, drive commissioning activities, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and manage relationships with local partners.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a large, multidisciplinary team of engineers in delivering advanced semiconductor facilities.
- Oversee project planning, coordination, and troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and process construction scopes.
- Collaborate with internal design teams to resolve construction-related issues and ensure seamless integration.
- Plan and execute commissioning activities for all systems while maintaining timelines and quality standards.
- Drive ecosystem development for construction partners, vendors, and suppliers to support expanding operations.
- Implement and monitor safety and quality programs across all projects, ensuring compliance with corporate and industry standards.
- Manage critical-path bottlenecks and troubleshoot issues to ensure timely project completion.
- Oversee local inspection activities and maintain strong relationships with partners to facilitate approvals.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
- At least 10 years in managing complex semiconductor construction projects or food and beverage construction projects.
- Knowledge of semiconductor fab operations and clean room construction processes.
- Experience in managing entire mega projects ($1B+ in scope) and engineering teams.
- Must have been directly responsible for full $1B+ budget
- Understanding of commissioning processes and inspection protocols.
- Proficient in project management, commercial construction, and site development.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and other relevant project management tools.
- Skills in AutoCAD, MS Project, Revit, and gas system management.
The role is based in a fast-paced construction work environment at the Phoenix facility. You will work five days a week on-site, overseeing a team of 47 engineers and collaborating with a design team of 38 people. The position involves reporting to the Director of Design and Construction.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $180000.00 - $240000.00/yr.
