Overview Are you looking for a highly rewarding opportunity that provides extensive career growth? Next150 Construction is seeking a motivated Construction Engineer II to assist the project team in obtaining, evaluating, coordinating, and distributing information and authorizations necessary to construct the project on time, within budget, and to the specified quality. This role will primarily be on the job site, with occasional travel to the office for training, meetings, etc. Responsibilities Partner with the Senior Construction Engineer and/or Project Manager to coordinate and distribute all project information. Work with the project team to ensure all contract document logs are up to date in real time. Ensure status reports on RFIs, Submittals, and other documents are prepared and presented. Write effective scopes of work for bid packages. Issue Request for Quotations and follow up with Trade Contractors and vendors. Update project schedules using CPM techniques. Document field quality activities in a timely manner. Prepare change management reports, estimates, and other cost report documents. Establish and maintain project quality files and documentation systems. Promote organizational change initiatives, suggest new ideas, and adapt to new structures and processes. Understand customer goals and needs, acting with urgency to meet them and demonstrate value. Develop industry relationships and expand professional networks to generate opportunities. Attend jobsite coordination meetings. Work closely with onsite equipment planners and accounting to prepare and review billing. Assist in preparing and distributing contracts/POs.
Qualifications Experience/Education BSc or MSc in Engineering or Construction Management. 1-3+ years of experience with a large trade contractor, construction management, or general contractor organization, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proven record of achieving organizational and personal goals with excellence. Understanding of success metrics and risks associated with projects. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. OSHA 10-hour certification required; OSHA 30-hour preferred. Basic MEP knowledge, understanding of Contract Documents & Specifications. Knowledge of CMiC and Bluebeam preferred. Experience in a self-performing environment is a plus. Union experience and estimating experience are advantageous.
Compensation Salary ranges from $76,000 to $115,000 plus benefits and retirement, depending on location, skills, education, and experience.
