You must live in the states of MD, DC or VA. The office is located in Potomac, MD 20854
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Construction Estimator with a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in estimating, bidding, and proposal writing for a variety of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and a proven ability to analyze project specifications to develop precise, comprehensive cost estimates.
In this role, the Estimator will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality. The successful candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare scope specifications and requirements, prepare and input project schedules, perform quantity take-offs, prepare cost summary sheets, and input quantities into estimating software.
Maintain an accurate, current database cost codes of accounts for historical data.
Develop and review subcontractor's scopes of work and accept, review, and analyze subcontractor's quotes for best value. Foster relationships with Subcontractors, Vendors, and Suppliers.ยท
Prepare detailed and accurate material, quantity take off, labor, equipment, subcontracts, construction facilities, etc. Ability to utilize BIM for quantity take-offs.
Thoroughly review all take-off and pricing, specifically self-performed work.
Present cost estimates to senior management to meet customer proposals, providing consideration for general and special conditions.
Ability to write proposals
Excellent communication skills both orally and written is required.
Assist Project Director in negotiating subcontracts and purchasing all major aspects of the project.
Assist in estimating job cost budget and turnover or transition meetings.
This is a full time in the office and on the job site position.
SKILLS
Proficient in construction estimating techniques and methodologies.
Strong understanding of cost control principles within the construction industry.
Experience with project management and construction management practices.
Ability to build effective relationships with clients, vendors, and team members.
Excellent negotiation skills for contract discussions.
Familiarity with tools such as BuildingConnected and HeavyBid is .
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in calculations and reporting.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,500.00 - $105,000.00 per year
