The Opportunity
We're seeking a Construction Field Technician/Laborer to join our Otsego-based Construction team. This is a temporary, full-time position running through November 30th, 2025, with the potential for extension based on project workload.
As a field technician/laborer, you'll work on a variety of ecological restoration projects throughout Minnesota and neighboring states. The work is hands-on, physical, and outdoors in all types of weather. You'll be part of a crew that installs native landscapes by seeding, planting, performing erosion control, and supporting site construction.
If you've worked in landscaping, construction, or agriculture-and you're comfortable with labor work in variable conditions-this role offers a chance to do something meaningful and mission-driven.
What You Will Do
- Carry out construction labor tasks for restoration projects, including seeding, planting, erosion control installation, and basic equipment operation.
- Operate and maintain tools and light machinery such as small tractors, skid loaders, ATV/UTVs, mowers, augers, chainsaws, and 3-point implements.
- Follow project plans and directions from superintendents and foremen to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Complete daily work logs and other basic documentation.
- Travel to various work sites (some with overnight stays) to complete project installations.
What You Will Need to Be Successful
- 2+ years of experience in landscaping, agriculture, or construction preferred.
- Ability to safely operate and perform basic maintenance on equipment and tools such as pumps, sprayers, small engines, and restoration machinery.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and follow site plans & maps and navigate work sites.
- Ability to work physically: lift up to 50lbs, stand for extended periods of time, and perform outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time, including some overnights, and work long hours in field conditions.
