Purpose
The Head of Operations oversees all aspects of post-construction cleaning operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with California labor laws. This role is responsible for managing teams, optimizing processes, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate has experience in operations, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of post-construction cleaning and public works requirements.
Essential Functions
1.0 Operational Leadership (20%)
Oversee daily operations, scheduling, logistics, and job site coordination.
Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and service quality.
Ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA safety regulations and labor laws.
Monitor project progress, identify challenges, and implement process improvements.
Maintain accurate project tracking and documentation.
2.0 Team Management & Development (20%)
Oversee the recruitment, training, and leadership supervisors and cleaning teams.
Implement performance metrics and accountability standards.
Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and excellence.
Conduct regular meetings and field visits to ensure alignment with company goals.
3.0 Contract & Legal Compliance (20%)
Review and negotiate service agreements, vendor contracts, and client proposals.
Ensure contracts comply with California contracts and labor laws as well as safety regulations .
Maintain accurate records of contracts and agreements.
4.0 Quality Control & Client Relations (15%)
Establish and enforce quality control standards.
Conduct site inspections and final walkthroughs as needed.
Address customer concerns and maintain strong client relationships.
Act as the primary point of contact for escalations and issue resolution.
5.0 Project Management (15%)
Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of all construction clean-up projects.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery.
Monitor Project budgets, identify cost variances, and implement corrective actions
Coordinate with clients and contractors to meet project requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve project-related challenges efficiently.
6.0 Field Safety (10%)
Implement and enforce field safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Conduct regular safety audits and provide ongoing training to staff.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable safety regulations .
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Operations Management & Team Leadership – Strong ability to oversee multiple projects and teams.
Analytical & Budgeting Skills – Ability to track expenses, manage costs, and analyze financial reports.
Contract Negotiation – Experience reviewing and negotiating agreements with vendors and clients.
Strong Communication Skills – Ability to interact with clients, contractors, and field teams effectively.
California Labor Law & Safety Expertise – Strong understanding of wage compliance, safety protocols ( Cal/OSHA, DIR requirements ), and prevailing wage laws for public works projects.
Ability to Multitask & Prioritize – Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
Industry Experience – Prior experience in post-construction cleaning, janitorial services, or public works .
Technology Proficiency – Familiarity with scheduling, budgeting, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Bilingual (Spanish) – To support field teams and ensure effective communication.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
5+ years of experience in operations management and public works .
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Regular site visits and job walks, requiring mobility and awareness of safety protocols.
Office environment with moderate noise levels.
Frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
Dexterity and vision for office-based tasks.

Salary Range of $120K - $150K Based on Experience/Qualifications
