Responsibilities In the role of Construction Inspector I, we'll count on you to: Inspect highways, roadways, and bridge construction activities Plan, schedule, and coordinate construction inspections, quality assurance inspections of bridge and transportation projects, including foundations, paving, earthwork Coordinate with contractor, other inspectors, surveyors, and materials testers as well as documentation of the project progress Be responsible for maintaining accurate daily reports of construction site activity, field measurements for progress payment Produce required reports on progress, safety, quality, schedule, and budget status Coordinate with others for documentation for contractor progress pay estimates Perform calculations to support the technical aspects of the work including shoring, falsework and quantities Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications Technical school, Associate degree, or BS in engineering Some demonstrated experience in construction inspection Ability to interpret construction schedules 2 years' experience working in construction inspection and management on Caltrans and/or local transportation agency highway, roadway, and/or bridge projects required Experience with Prolog, Primavera, etc. desired Required Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong written communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must HDR is our company.
