The Position
The City of Riverside, Public Utilities Department is accepting applications for the position of Construction Inspector I, II or Senior (depending on experience)to fill one (1) vacancy in the Water Engineering Division.The eligibility list established may be used to fill the current and/or upcoming vacancies within this classification for up to six (6) months.
The Construction Inspector I OR II checks, evaluates, and inspects workmanship and materials on a variety of public works or utility construction projects for conformance with plans, specifications and departmental regulations

The Senior Construction Inspector leads, oversees, and performs construction inspections of the workmanship and materials in a variety of public works or utility construction projects. They ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and departmental regulations

Pay Ranges (Tier 2/3):
Construction Inspector I: $34.98/hr - $42.51/hr
Construction Inspector II: $41.72/hr - $50.72/hr
Senior Construction Inspector: $46.02/hr -$55.93/hr

Qualifications
Qualifications for Construction Inspector I:

Education:High School graduation or satisfactory equivalent (GED).
Experience: Two years of experience performing construction inspections.
Qualifications for Construction Inspector II:
Education: High School graduation or satisfactory equivalent (GED).

Experience: Three years of experience performing construction inspections for residential, commercial, or industrial properties.

Qualifications for Senior Construction Inspector:

Education: High School graduation or satisfactory equivalent (GED). An Associate's Degree in Construction Technology or a Public Works Inspection Certificate is highly desired.

Experience: Four (4) years of experience performing public works related construction inspections or related inspection work OR an Associate's Degree in Construction Technology or a closely related field AND two (2) years of experience performing public works related construction inspections or other related
inspection work.
Highly Desired Qualifications for Construction inspector I, II or Senior:

Knowledge/Experience with the following:

Licenses and Certifications: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class "C" California Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
