Construction Inspector

Pennoni is hiring a Construction Inspector to contribute to our Municipal Infrastructure projects on a part-time, direct basis in the Newark, NJ area. Primary responsibilities include performing construction inspections and material testing for stormwater management facilities, roads, land developments, wastewater collection & conveyance systems, water distribution & treatment facilities, and other infrastructure. The role also involves performing constructability plan reviews, assisting with construction administration, and other tasks as needed.

Basic requirements include a high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least four years of professional experience working in field-based roles, preferably in construction. A valid driver's license is required. Preferred qualifications include an associate's degree in an engineering or technical field of study, especially civil engineering technology, and experience working with municipal infrastructure/wet utility projects. Proficiency with basic computer programs, especially MS-Office, and exposure to technical programs like ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation are also a plus. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, teamwork, self-motivation, multitasking, and excellent communication skills (verbal & written) are essential.

Target hourly range: $30 - $40.
