Position: Construction Inspector (Stormwater) Location: Houston, TX Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 annual salary, Full-Time opportunity Regional Travel: Required, typically 85% or more through company vehicle. We provide $68 per diem on out-of-town travel days.

Apex Companies is looking for a hands-on, experienced Construction Inspector (Stormwater) to oversee critical wet utility and stormwater projects. If you have experience in drainage, concrete and paving, or stormwater and wet utility workand excel in a role that blends fieldwork, leadership, and travelthis is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact. Your responsibilities as a Stormwater Superintendent:
Oversee and manage stormwater and wet utility projects, including inspections, repairs, and compliance assessments across job sites in Texas and surrounding states.
Supervise and coordinate staff and subcontractors - plan, assign tasks, monitor progress, ensure quality, maintain schedules, and manage budgets.
Communicate project scope and expectations clearly with subcontractors and vendors, while maintaining strong working relationships.
Document project progress, provide daily updates to management, and assist with scheduling and material procurement.
Ensure adherence to safety regulations and best practices; operate construction equipment and perform hands-on repairs as needed.
Identify and resolve project issues promptly to keep projects on track and within compliance.

What we're looking for:
GED or High School Diploma.
Ability to do frequent out-of-town regional travel.
2 years of related experience with stormwater/drainage construction, concrete or asphalt paving experience, or wet utility work is required.
Ability to manage budgets and timelines, manage staff, provide subcontractor oversight, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid driver's license and good driving record.
Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screen.
Commercial Contractor Licensing is a plus.
Experience with Deltek Vision is a plus.
