SUMMARY

Perform onsite monitoring of municipal and private construction projects of existing infrastructure to ensure adherence to contract documents. Maintains professional demeanor and appearance when interacting with Clients, contractor staff, and the general public.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Reporting of observed structural and operational defects present within a pipe interior.
  • Inspect/Observe construction activities ensuring compliance with Contract Documents.
  • Assist in improving operations, processes, coordination, communication, quality, and site safety.
  • Document field activities by preparing clear, comprehensive and accurate daily observation reports.
  • Maintaining a strong focus on client and resident satisfaction as the candidate will interact closely with the general public. Ability to respond to client and homeowner questions with confidence while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Review of closed-circuit television (CCTV) video images of pipe interior to determine condition for quality assurance review and determination of contractor's compliance with project specifications
  • Attend regular project status meetings and contribute to the success of the project and this company. The Inspector shall obtain a clear understanding of project specifications, plans, details and attend regular meetings for project and schedule updates.
  • Effectively and efficiently utilize Microsoft Office software suite to collect, copy, transfer, print, save and file digital files into a predetermined files structure for future retrieval.
  • Communicate effectively with both the project team and general public.
  • Ensure that all project documentation is obtained prior to any field activities are performed by the Contractor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to maintain a strong focus on client satisfaction and client service.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and practices is preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction standards (ASTM, MAG, etc.) is preferred.
  • Ability to understand Project Documents is preferred.
  • Experience in reviewing and investigating complaints, hazardous conditions, schedules, methods, materials and any other project related matters.
  • Possess physical conditioning for strenuous walking activities in typical Arizona temperatures that routinely can exceed 110 degrees F. Capable of carrying equipment of approximately 25 pounds up, in and around uneven or unimproved terrain.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrate the ability to provide quality, timely deliverables. Experience working with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and Word with the ability to file and submit electronic files as needed.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Must be able to work unsupervised in a team environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours depending upon the contractor's schedule, including night and weekend shifts.

Education and Experience:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years in field inspection or similar type of experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic engineering design and layout principles is helpful. Must demonstrate the ability to work both independently and positively in a team environment.
  • Ability to obtain the National Association of Sanitary Service Company (NASSCO) Pipeline Assessment Certification Program (PACP) and Lateral Assessment and Certification Program (LACP). Knowledge of NASSCO is preferred but not required.
  • Prior utility installation experience helpful. Previous construction monitoring or trenchless pipe rehabilitation in the wastewater industry a plus.

Other Requirements:

  • Must have a valid Arizona driver's license or be able to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license within 3 months of start date.
