PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Anticipated Hiring salary: $63,617.00 - $79,521.00/year
Full Salary Range: $63,617.00 - $99,401.00/year
Salary to be commensurate with experience.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs complex civil construction inspections to ensure compliance with the city code and specifications
- Records results of inspections
- Performs related public contact requirements verbally, in writing, by computer, or over the telephone
- Provide options to pass inspections; schedules and coordinates routes and re-inspection
- Attends meetings and confers with the public
- Investigates complaints and variance issues
- Maintains complex filing system
- Performs other related duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Additional coursework and training may be required
Experience:
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES REQUIRED:
- Colorado Driver's License with a good driving history
- CDOT Erosion Control Supervisor, or ability to obtain within 6 months
- NICET: Roadways, soils or utility, or ability to obtain within 6 months
Knowledge of:
- Design, construction, and function of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, structural, equipment and systems, and life safety
- Municipal building codes and enforcement
Skills in:
- Skill in the interpretation of engineer's drawings, standards, and specifications
Abilities to:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, contractors, and citizens
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations
- Read and interpret project plans and drawings
- Write and maintain detailed reports, logs, and payment records
- Be able to pass the Public Works Senior Construction Inspector exam within six (6) months
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Moderate physical work which requires the ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds, with or without assistance
- Frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Regular walking and standing
- A full range of body movements including pushing, pulling, climbing and crawling
- Foot/eye coordination to operate a motor vehicle
- Vision to read plans, specifications and other information
- Frequent hearing and speech communication with employees, contractors, and citizens
Equipment Used:
- Operates a motor vehicle; personal computer; calculator, computer; and equipment/tools appropriate to the function of this job
- This position may require the incumbent to use personal equipment (e.g. vehicle, cell phone, tools, etc.) in the course of their employment
