Tutor Perini Corporation is seeking a Construction Intern to join our Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) project in Honolulu, HI

Tutor Perini is the general contractor for the HART City Center Guideway and Stations project. The scope of the approximately $1.66 billion contract includes the design and construction of six rail stations and approximately three miles of elevated rail guideway beginning just east of the Middle Street Transit Center Station and ending at the Civic Center Station, which will be located just east of the intersection of Halekauwila Street and South Street in downtown Honolulu. Project design is expected to begin immediately while construction is estimated to commence in the second half of 2025. Construction of this segment is expected to be substantially completed in 2030.
Description:
As a Construction Intern at Tutor Perini Corp., reporting to the Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to:
- Assist in daily field inspections and ensure work is performed in compliance with project specifications and safety standards
- Support engineers and project managers with material take-offs, RFI submissions, and submittal reviews
- Help coordinate subcontractors and track their progress against project schedules
- Participate in quality control processes and report any discrepancies to supervisors
- Maintain field logs, daily reports, and photo documentation
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans
- Assist with the procurement of materials and verification of deliveries
- Perform various administrative and technical support tasks as needed
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Strong interest in fieldwork and construction project execution
- Basic understanding of construction drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or scheduling software is a plus
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and on active construction sites
- Must reside in the Honolulu, HI area
