Job Description
Join a dynamic team in Lenoir, NC. This long-term project spans over two years and offers a unique opportunity to work on a high-profile construction site. You will be part of a skilled workforce contributing to general construction requirements, including temporary structure setup, construction cleanup, pressure washing, and more.
Responsibilities
- Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction project job sites.
- Review jobsite needs with supervisors and superintendents to comprehend scopes of work per plans and specifications.
- Assist with jobsite cleanup, rough carpentry, site logistics, fencing, deck and platform building, protection systems, and construction waste management.
- Inventory supplies and communicate supply orders for re-stocking.
- Ensure compliance with safety codes, regulations, and jobsite standards.
- Understand work instructions, project signage, and safety instructions; inspect tools prior to use.
- Participate in daily Pre-Task Plans, follow safety protocols, and wear appropriate PPE.
- Perform selected demolition and participate in subcontractor and supplier activities.
- Review project perimeter for security and cleanliness daily, and assist in end-of-day cleanup activities.
- Perform fire watch duties and construct scaffolding as needed.
- Manage dumpster vendor schedule and maintain cleanliness and organization of dumpster areas.
- Serve as a spotter for heavy equipment operators.
- Ensure security of equipment and work areas during operations.
- Identify, communicate, and escalate problems and issues to supervisors for resolution.
- Track production of completed tasks and assist other craft workers as directed.
- Maintain positive working relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employees.
- Minimum of 6 months of construction experience.
- Proficiency in using power tools and tape measurers.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Skills in carpentry, concrete, and hand tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively and escalate issues when necessary.
- Experience with safety protocols and equipment operation.
