Construction Laborer

As a construction laborer, you will play a vital role in supporting skilled tradespeople and ensuring job sites run smoothly. You will be responsible for preparing construction sites, handling materials, operating tools, and assisting trades as needed.

Responsibilities

  1. Prepare construction sites by cleaning and removing debris.
  2. Load and unload building materials and distribute them to appropriate locations.
  3. Operate a variety of hand and power tools such as jackhammers, saws, drills, and compactors.
  4. Assist with the setup and breakdown of temporary structures like scaffolding and barricades.
  5. Support carpenters, masons, and other trades as needed.
  6. Follow all safety protocols and report any hazards or incidents immediately.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in construction and general labor.
  • Ability to assist with site preparation and cleanup.
  • Proficiency in loading and unloading materials and tools.
  • Skill in operating hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and company policies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous construction experience.

Work Environment

Work is conducted outside on civil development sites, requiring adaptability to all weather conditions, including hot summers and cold, wet winters. Hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 am-5:30 pm with optional overtime on rotating Saturdays. Emphasis on safety and efficiency is paramount.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Charleston, South Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
