Position Summary

ISI seeks a Staff Architect with strong experience in design and construction management of healthcare facilities to support a Boiler Plant Replacement at the Montgomery VAMC. This role functions as an Owner’s Representative, focused on constructability, field inspections, and compliance with VA standards during construction execution and closeout.

Key Responsibilities

• Review design documents and construction phasing plans for constructability and code compliance
• Conduct field inspections and document architectural compliance with contract drawings/specifications
• Participate in commissioning, punch lists, and project closeout procedures
• Provide support in resolving field issues, contractor coordination, and submittal reviews
• Support Government meetings, deliverable reviews, and contract administration tasks
• Maintain redline drawings and assist in verifying as-built documentation
• Provide written assessments and recommendations on architectural scope changes, construction impacts, and mitigation strategies

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Education: Bachelor of Architecture from an accredited program
• Experience: 6+ years of experience in architecture and construction, with healthcare or institutional project focus
• Skills: Knowledge of building codes, accessibility standards, federal design guides, and construction documentation
• Eligibility: Ability to pass a Public Trust background check

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting federal healthcare facilities (VA or other agencies)
• Experience with VA Design Guides
• Registered Architect (RA) license preferred

Work Schedule and Setting

• Full-time, onsite.
• Normal hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
• Occasional off-hours work may be required to accommodate hospital operations
