Adesta, an Allied Universal® Company, is hiring a Construction Manager - Telecom. The Construction Manager - Telecom represents the company in subcontractor pre-bid, pre-construction, and in-progress negotiations and is the customer interface on any construction-related meetings or items and any initial permitting contracts. This manager will effectively schedule the work and assign tasks to team members based on team member skills, competencies, and experience to meet or exceed the assigned tasks and provide professional development. The Construction Manager – Telecom leads by example in the engineering, permitting, and construction of the required scopes of work and supervises the team of fiber splicers and contractors to accomplish the required activities on schedule. PAY: $60,000 - $85,000 / annually RESPONSIBILITIES: Interpret architectural, engineering, utility right-of-way and grid maps, underground utility records, and railroad validation maps and drawings, and make recommendations for placing system running lines and/or equipment Understand, participate in, and direct the engineering, permitting and construction processes in order to support the requirements of the project contract and coordinate a team effort Communicate effectively to direct reports regarding permitting requirements and issues to be resolved Provide guidance and proper instructions to OSP/ISP/security project personnel for planning, scheduling, and close out of projects; ensure documentation is properly prepared for subsequent turnover to the owner Actively participates in scheduling and building access meetings (intra-company) and meetings with municipalities and governmental permitting officials to coordinate and manage the project schedule Using company accounting techniques, maintain supervision over requisitioning of permanent materials and subcontracting for labor to remain within budget constraints, as well as accounting for own and subcontractor’s work at any phase of construction or installation Understand the policies, procedures, standards, and goals of the organization and direct the execution of all aspects of engineering, permitting, construction, and final acceptance with those in mind Represents the company in pre-bid, pre-construction, and subcontractor negotiations and is the customer interface on any construction-related meetings or items and any initial permitting contracts QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess one or more of the following:High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three (3) years of civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering experienceBachelor’s degree in Engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, or construction) or related field Minimum of three (3) years of progressively more responsible field engineering or construction project management experience Ability to read, analyze, and interpret construction contracts, engineering and construction drawings and specifications, common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and other documents Communicate effectively in both oral and written English technical language, both in interpreting requirements and providing reports and mentoring PREFERRED QU ALIFICATIONS: College degree in Engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, or construction) or related field Prior utility construction experience Civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering experience BENEFITS: Medical, dental, vision, basic life, AD&D, and disability insurance Enrollment in our company’s 401 (k), subject to eligibility requirements Eight paid holidays annually, five sick days, and four personal days Vacation time offered at an accrual rate of 3.08 hours biweekly.
