Per Se Group has an excellent contract job opportunity for a Construction Manager, who will work closely with our client’s project team members and provide supervision for all contractor and sub-contractor trade employees. We are looking for a Construction Managers who is highly organized, communicates effectively, works well with a team, and can help ensure timely completion of projects in fast-paced environments.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop project-specific construction management and/or commissioning management work plansPerform Home office or remote pre-construction planning work before field mobilizationLead and manage the site construction management and commissioning staffMonitor overall construction and commissioning progress, cost, quality, scope, and safetyManage and mitigate construction and commissioning work riskReport construction progress and cost to the Project Manager or OwnerLead and attend construction project performance review meetingsPlan construction process by developing schedules, phasing, and lookaheadsKeep track of project progress and maintain schedulesEnsure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderlyCommunicate any field conflicts and notify the internal project teamKeep all documentation up to date for internal and external project membersCollaborate with the internal construction team, engineers, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needsMonitor and report on project progressAdhere to estimated costs and ensure the project is on budget (and is profitable) Supervise field staff and provide constructive feedbackCoordinate requests for appropriate staffingResolve on-site issues and emergenciesEnsure compliance with safety, health, and quality standards.
Essential skills and experience12+ years of specific experience in Project Management of Utility, Construction, Engineering, or other technical projects Determination of staff positions and size; interviewing and selection of personnel experienceConstruction labor knowledge and labor planning experienceExperience in establishing and effectively using project controls tools to manage a large construction projectUnderstanding of a process approach to accomplishing construction management and start-up testing workDemonstrated client relationship-building experienceStrong verbal and written communication skillsGood interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others in potentially adversarial situationsSuccessful and proven experience as an Industrial Construction Site ManagerKnowledge of quality, safety, and health guidelines for sizeable industrial construction job sitesIn-depth understanding of construction operations and processesUnderstanding the importance of proper phase codes and assigning timeProficiency in MS Office SuiteOrganizational and time management skillsAbility to lead and inspireOSHA 10 or 30. Valued But Not Required Skills and Experience:
BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program. Engineering design experience is a plus PMP Certification is a plus The pay range for this role is $65-$70/hr. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
