We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the construction of a greenfield food manufacturing facility. This role involves managing daily contractor activities, ensuring safety standards, quality execution, and meeting project timelines and budget objectives. The Site Manager will work closely with the Project Manager and local teams, guaranteeing seamless coordination and efficient project delivery. Key Responsibilities: Lead safety coordination on-site, ensuring adherence to safety standards and protocols. Conduct daily stand-up coordination meetings with contractors to manage priorities and resolve execution issues. Oversee the preparation and issuance of work and fire permits, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. Manage daily coordination to avoid business interruptions due to construction activities. Monitor project quality, maintaining records of inspections and ensuring completion of punch lists. Support the project team with design and execution reviews, highlighting potential issues for timely resolution. Ensure contractors meet schedule deadlines, track deviations, and propose mitigation plans to avoid delays. Supervise the handy men team and manage non-contractor-related tasks and materials. Manage contractor progress reports, approve invoices, and ensure correct quantities are billed. Facilitate the handover to the local operating team, including training, documentation, and final quality checks.
Qualifications: 5+ years of experience as a Site Manager, preferably in industrial or greenfield construction projects. Strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills. Ability to communicate effectively with contractors, safety advisors, and project stakeholders. Experience with MS Project and project coordination software. Knowledge of safety certifications (CSP/SCC) or willingness to obtain. Experience in the food industry and/or with general contractors is a plus. Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple activities with efficiency. Experience reading and interpreting plans and drawings.
