Construction Materials Technician (CMT)

We're looking for skilled and detail-driven Construction Materials Technicians to join our team and support our field inspection operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on precision and enjoys hands-on testing to ensure that all construction materials meet the highest standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze civil and structural plans to identify specifications relevant to assigned work
• Perform on-site material tests and document field observations as required by the project
• Submit daily field reports detailing testing activities and findings
• Communicate non-compliance issues to appropriate site leadership
• Maintain, clean, and calibrate assigned testing equipment in accordance with standards
• Safely transport, operate, and care for a nuclear density gauge per guidelines outlined in the Radiation Safety Program
• Construction materials testing, including soil sampling and concrete analysis
• Inspection and quality assurance procedures
• Operation of nuclear density gauges
• Report writing and documentation
• Familiarity with testing of concrete, soils, and masonry

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• Academic background preferred (engineering or related field)
• Prior construction or field engineering experience
• Excellent written communication skills for technical reporting
• Ability to manage confidential test data with accuracy and integrity
• Comfortable working with standard software and learning custom applications
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Professional demeanor, especially under pressure or in fast-paced settings
• Ethical work practices and commitment to safety
• Must hold a valid driver's license and be eligible to operate company vehicles

Work Environment:

This role combines office-based documentation with active fieldwork. Candidates must be adaptable to diverse work settings and consistently follow our safety and operational protocols.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
