Construction Operations Manager

The Construction Operations Manager plans,directs, and coordinates activities of designated construction projects toensure site safety, project quality, and expected profitability is achievedwithin the targeted time frame. This position reports to the RegionInstallation Leader and District General Manager. Direct reports includeField Technicians, Construction Project Managers, and Laborers. Ensures all D&H's standards are adheredto and executed consistent with company direction.
PRINCIPALRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
•Enforces a Zero Tolerance safety process and protocol on allwork sites
•Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders of assignedprojects
•Utilizes a variety of tools to ensure the scope of projectsare met
•Creates and develops SOPs to ensure consistenttraining and implementation of processes and procedures for the Constructiondepartment
•Identifies risks/opportunities through interpretation ofcontracts, onsite conditions, and feedback from field
•Manages job costs in a proactive manner and providesaccurate financial forecasting.
•Maintains and updates project schedules throughout thelifecycle of the assigned projects.
•Partners with Construction Managers to discuss project'sprogress, issues, and action/recovery plans.
•Aligns with Sales team to ensureaccurate costing of new project bids and ensures book orders contain theexpenses and labor hours necessary to meet expected profit margins.
•Procures jobsite materials in a timely manner (subcontractorand vendors).
•Generates monthly closeout reports and projects profits andlosses
•Navigates all internal processes and systems to create thehighest level of efficiency on all projects.
•Effectively communicate with andinfluence direct report employees in a positive way. Responsible for team building, coaching,mentoring, and development of all direct reports.
•Performs all otherduties as assigned.

BasicKnowledge & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Proficient in project management software and tools
- Utilize a strategic mindset, capable of identifying areas for improvement and developing/implementing a plan to correct
- Ability to influence in both formal and informal settings via collaboration and use of facts / data
- Excellent Customer Service and multi-tasking skills
- Possesses a comprehensive understanding of customer-facing portals for order-to-bill processes

- Outstanding communication skills in both verbal and written formats

- Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.

- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
- Communicates effectively and persuasively with building owners/managers, general contractors, developers, and all levels of employees
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks, effectively manage projects, and overcome obstacles
- Tracks record of building and maintaining professional relationships with other team members and customers
- Proven ability to understand and assess business needs, develop and implement action plans, effectively manage multiple projects, and lead personnel to deliver desired results
PreviousExperience/Education:
- At least two years construction relevant project management experience in the construction industry or related trades.
- At least two years of people leadership experience including performance management and development planning.
PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS
•Abilityto lift 50 lbs frequently
•Frequent use of hands to manipulatethe keyboard, telephone, files and other equipment
•Abilityto traverse jobsite terrain and conditions
