Job Summary We are looking for a proactive and detail-focused Construction Project Engineer to join our expanding team. This position supports the planning, coordination, and execution of complex Public Works and DSA construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of strong analytical thinking and communication skills to help drive project efficiency, regulatory compliance, and high-quality delivery from preconstruction through closeout.
Key Responsibilities Assist in creating project plans, schedules, and budgets to support successful project execution. Review construction drawings, specifications, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with project standards. Coordinate daily with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain smooth operations and progress. Track project milestones, identify potential delays or risks, and contribute to resolution strategies. Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and maintain project documentation. Support procurement efforts and monitor material deliveries to meet deadlines and control costs. Ensure all work aligns with Public Works and DSA requirements, as well as applicable safety and quality standards. Participate in site inspections and quality assurance efforts to maintain construction standards. Communicate project status and updates clearly to internal teams and external stakeholders. Collaborate with design and field teams to address design issues or coordination challenges in real time. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Direct experience with Public Works or DSA projects is required. 1-3 years of experience in project engineering, construction coordination, or a similar role preferred. Proficiency in construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD is a plus. Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced construction environment. Solid understanding of safety protocols and industry best practices. Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits.
