Our busy company is seeking an experienced construction estimator to join our team of construction professionals. We need someone with strong math skills and excellent communication skills to write proposals, cost estimates, and detailed takeoffs on our construction projects. Compensation: $80,000 - $130,000 potential average earnings Responsibilities: Visit construction sites to obtain necessary client requirement information Follow up with clients on submitted proposal and budgets Examine specifications, blueprints, proposals, and construction documents to understand the project as a whole Create estimates, budgets, written proposals, costs, and updates for clients and project managers Work closely with the construction project manager to oversee and coordinate the bid process for vendors and subcontractors Manage all aspects of estimating remodeling projects, including design coordination, estimating, billing, and execution Create accurate construction cost estimates and timelines Present detailed estimates and work breakdowns for clients and internal teams Coordinate with office staff and field crews to allocate labor and resources Build and maintain a reliable network of subcontractors and negotiate pricing Use estimating software and project management tools to organize and track progress Complete job-related paperwork and maintain proper documentation for all projects Qualifications: Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and construction estimating software Bachelors’ degree in civil engineering, accounting, construction management, or related field is required Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) certification from the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) is preferred Analytical skills, critical thinking, and very strong math skills are essential Knowledge of data and risk analysis, research methodology, accounting, and estimation metrics is critical 3–5+ years of experience in residential remodeling or construction estimating Experience with cost estimating software preferred Familiarity with project management platforms (JobTread or similar is a plus.)
