General Function

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: classroom instruction, examination preparation and grading, while preparing students for a rewarding career as Construction Project Managers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilites

Provides students with hands on training as well as textbook training to succeed as construction project managers Demonstrates an ability to plan, schedule, or coordinate construction project activities to meet deadlines Ability to prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports Assists students in recognizing how to inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes or other regulations Teaches best practices when conferring with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems Team building activities and knowledge of Microsoft Project or any other pertinent project scheduling programs. Minimum Qualifications Associate Degree or Certification in Construction Management from an accredited institution or five plus years as a construction foreman, project manager, or general contractor Must be willing to take part in the National Center for Construction Education and Research NCCER training Must be able to work evenings or Saturdays. Proven record of excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Bilingual English-Spanish a preferred but not required
