Full-time Construction Project Manager (Commercial)About the Position

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Construction Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial project management, with expertise in commercial tenant improvements (TI) and general construction practices. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and oversee complex commercial construction projects from inception to completion. This position will take over a historic-preservation build on the Newport Coast, where you will be required to be at or near the ocean daily.

Role Overview

As a Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing commercial construction projects. You will work closely with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your role will be crucial in maintaining client satisfaction, managing project risks, and driving overall project success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans
  • Coordinate and oversee all aspects of commercial construction projects, including tenant improvements
  • Manage and lead project teams, including subcontractors and in-house personnel
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and address any issues or concerns
  • Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders and upper management
  • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Implement and maintain effective communication channels among all project participants
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and develop contingency plans
  • Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and services
  • Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and permits
  • Ensure projects adhere to environmental and sustainability guidelines
  • Collaborate with the design team to review and approve plans and specifications
  • Conduct project close-out activities, including final inspections and documentation
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction project management
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale commercial projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and industry standards
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera)
  • Excellent understanding of construction contracts and legal requirements
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
  • Familiarity with LEED certification and sustainable construction practices
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites
