Project Manager - Highway/Roadway (Remote, U.S.) Location: Remote within the U.S. Travel: Must be open to travel within the United States as required Role Overview: An established civil engineering firm is seeking a Project Manager - Highway/Roadway to join its Civil Roadway team. This role involves managing the design and execution of roadway and highway projects, supporting marketing and pursuit efforts, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring project quality, schedule, and budget compliance. This is a remote role open to candidates across the United States who are willing to travel for project or client needs. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage small to medium-sized highway and local roadway projects, or serve as roadway task lead on large, multidisciplinary transportation projects. Develop project scopes and fee proposals. Coordinate design activities across engineering and design teams; manage workloads and staffing throughout the project lifecycle. Act as primary client liaison, building and maintaining strong client relationships. Support marketing and business development efforts, including proposal preparation and interviews. Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers, EITs, and design staff. Monitor project budgets, schedules, and performance metrics. Conduct internal project reviews and collaborate with leadership and other project managers. Maintain awareness of industry trends and participate in professional development and industry events. Qualifications: B.S. in Civil Engineering required. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain licensure within one year. Minimum 10 years of relevant civil transportation/highway engineering experience. At least 4 years of roadway task lead or project management experience. Demonstrated leadership, communication, and coordination skills. Strong organizational ability and proven track record of budget and schedule adherence. Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality, review-ready documents. Experience in proposal writing, client presentations, and pursuit of alternative delivery projects . Familiarity with PennDOT and local agency standards and workflows. Experience with model-based digital delivery using Bentley software (MicroStation, OpenRoads). Why Apply?
