Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to lead large-scale healthcare construction projects exceeding $80 million in value. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex hospital or healthcare facility builds from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all phases of construction projects including planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and execution.
Manage project teams including superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and consultants.
Collaborate with healthcare clients, architects, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with healthcare construction standards (e.g., ICRA, NFPA, FGI).
Oversee cost control, change management, and risk mitigation strategies.
Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and infection control measures in active healthcare environments.
Provide regular project updates to stakeholders and executive leadership.
Drive project closeout, commissioning, and turnover to client operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
Minimum 10 years of construction management experience, with at least 5 years in healthcare projects over $80M.
Strong knowledge of healthcare construction codes, standards, and best practices.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project).
Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
PMP, CHC, or similar certification is a plus.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with major Chicago-area healthcare systems (e.g., Northwestern Medicine, Rush, Advocate Health).
Familiarity with LEED certification and sustainable building practices.
Experience managing projects in active hospital campuses or urban environments.
