We are recruiting on behalf of a respected commercial general contractor in Cleveland, Ohio, who are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong carpentry background to lead and deliver high-profile projects across the region. This contractor specializes in retail, office, industrial, institutional, and renovation projects , with a reputation for quality craftsmanship and client satisfaction.
The Role As a Project Manager , you will oversee projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule are achieved. Key responsibilities include: Leading the planning, scheduling, and execution of commercial construction projects. Overseeing subcontractors, field crews, and self-perform teams, with a focus on carpentry and interior trades . Reviewing plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure scope compliance. Managing budgets, forecasts, change orders, and project documentation. Coordinating with clients, architects, and engineers to maintain strong relationships and smooth project delivery. Driving site safety, quality control, and productivity standards. Mentoring junior team members and supporting field staff development.
Requirements Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred). 5+ years of project management experience in commercial construction. Hands-on experience or strong background in carpentry trades (essential). Proven track record of delivering projects ranging from $500K–$20M+ . Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Proficiency in project management and scheduling software. Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
