Job Title: Construction Quality Inspector
Work Location: Atlanta, GA
Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview
Duties/Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Senior Inspectors to ensure rigorous construction oversight and inspection responsibilities.
Effectively review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
Continuously monitor construction activities to guarantee compliance with quality standards and project specifications.
Conduct thorough field audits of developer and Independent Construction Quality Assurance (ICQA) processes.
Inspect roadways, structures, and drainage systems to ensure conformance to project requirements.
Assist in verifying materials sampling and testing (soils, aggregate, asphalt, concrete).
Participate in pre-activity meetings with contractors and quality teams to foster collaboration.
Document and report inspection findings electronically with precision and clarity.
Maintain and promote safety practices in all construction activities to ensure a secure work environment.
Education/Experience:
High School diploma with 2 years of roadway-related experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
An Associate degree or technical training in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field with 5 years of roadway construction experience is highly desirable.
Basic knowledge of highway construction methods, materials, and equipment.
Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents and specifications.
Skilled in using computers and office equipment for documentation and reporting.
A valid US Driver's License is required for driving company vehicles to job sites. Candidates must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review as a condition of employment.
Experience on large-scale transportation infrastructure projects is preferred.
Familiarity with GDOT standards and procedures is a plus.
Relevant certifications from technical organizations are advantageous, such as:
American Concrete Institute (ACI)
Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) inspection certifications
Proficiency in geometry and trigonometry as they apply to construction surveying and layout.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in diverse field conditions, including heights, live traffic, proximity to water, and adverse weather conditions.
