The Safety Intern will work with the safety team and risk management to promote and manage the Company Safety Guidelines. The Safety Intern position will be for a minimum of 12 weeks. The Safety Intern will learn about our company and may be trained to become a full-time employee after college graduation. Some duties and responsibilities include:
Participate in field safety inspections
Assist with safety training for all employees
Assist with investigation of injuries/trends
Help with root cause investigations
Learn how to develop a task hazard analysis
Participate in online training
Help identify and provide solutions to address hazards associated with construction trades
The position will require:
Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
Able to stand continuously for extended periods of time.
Must be able to regularly ascend/descend ladders and/or stairs through the course of the day.
We are seeking students with the following qualifications: Seeking a degree in Occupational Health and Safety
Willingness to travel
Excellent oral and written communication
Ability to lead and influence employees to work with safety mindset
Promote and practice a "team" mentality
Reliability, dependability and flexibility
Valid Driver's License - clean motor vehicle record
