We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety Manager to oversee field safety on vertical construction and renovation projects. This role involves actively engaging with contractors to ensure compliance with safety protocols, performing site inspections, and producing detailed reports. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and mitigating construction safety hazards, implementing safety strategies, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and consensus standards.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Provide on-site oversight of construction safety and ensure compliance with safety standards. * Communicate safety requirements and expectations clearly to contractors, monitoring adherence to key safety program elements. * Conduct thorough site inspections, assess safety conditions, and generate comprehensive inspection reports. * Identify and mitigate construction safety hazards by applying regulatory requirements and accepted safety standards. * Develop and implement strategies to enhance the construction safety program. * Deliver OSHA 10 or 30-hour safety training sessions as required. * Support accident and incident investigations and participate in post-incident reviews, sharing findings with the Contractor’s Safety Officers, Client, and Broker Team. * Attend and contribute to monthly safety and claims meetings with the Owner and Broker Team.
*Qualifications:*
* *Languages:* Bilingual (Spanish required) * *Education:* Bachelor’s degree preferred (not required) * *Experience:* Minimum of 5 years in construction safety management. * *Knowledge:* Strong understanding of federal, state, and local construction safety regulations. * *Skills:* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with Project Managers and Contractors. * *Decision-Making:* Ability to manage multiple projects and make timely critical decisions.
*Preferred Certifications:*
* OSHA CSHO (Certified Safety & Health Official) * OSHA CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) * OSHA 500 (Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards)
*Technology Skills:*
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
*Physical Requirements:*
* Ability to frequently walk stairs, use ladders, and access confined spaces as necessary. * Physical endurance and dexterity for regular field inspections.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $45.00 - $75.00 per hour
