About this opportunity:
Senior estimators are responsible for obtaining work thru competitive bidding as well as providing quantity takeoffs and budgets for negotiated contracts. The senior estimator is expected to work closely with the project stakeholders including but not limited to owners and owner representatives, engineers, inspectors, testing labs, etc. They must be able to comprehend the information found in the construction documents and must be able to clearly communicate that information to others.
Job responsibilities include:
Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine project requirements and identify potential cost factors.
Survey/Quantify Materials/Assemblies from Drawings.
Capable of Structural/Civil Estimates at DD / CD.
Demonstrates Knowledge of Conceptual Estimating.
Demonstrated proficiency in Interiors Estimating.
Utilize industry-standard estimation software and tools to generate detailed and competitive bids.
Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to obtain pricing and cost information.
Prepare preliminary construction schedules and coordinate all aspects of preconstruction.
Review project specifications and drawings to assist in development of bid packages.
Evaluate bids from subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
Monitor project costs throughout construction process, identify any discrepancies, analyze project expenditures against budgeted targets.
Collaborate with project managers and other team members to create cost effective solutions.
Maintain accurate records pertaining to the projects.
Preparation of detailed reports.
Makes recommendations for database pricing changes.
Demonstrated proficiency in Subcontractor knowledge.
Demonstrated proficiency in OST / Bluebeam.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Education and experience: Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field, and at least 5-7 years of commercial preconstruction experience.
Estimating Background: Knowledge and experience providing conceptual and detailed cost estimates on multiple disciplines for new construction and renovation projects. We are looking for someone with strong construction knowledge and the ability to develop estimates without drawings.
Eye for Details: Accuracy is critical for success in this role. Candidate must have superior organizational, communication (both written and verbal) and decision-making skills.
Leadership Skills: Creativity and confidence in solving problems as part of a team.
Tech-know-how: A strong background in using all Microsoft Office programs, On-Screen Takeoff, Planswift, Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam, ProEst, Building Connected, BidNet, MS Project as well as adept in using general computer software. Experience with building modeling software is .

Base pay is positioned within the beginning salary range based on several factors including a candidates knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity.
