SAM Construction Group is the construction division for our vertically-integrated developer, SAM Development Group. We specialize in new mid-rise multifamily and luxury home construction. Our structures are concrete and steel, with in-house divisions self-performing a variety of trade craft scopes including:
grading/excavation, underground wet/dry utilities, concrete/rebar, framing/drywall, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, roofing, landscaping, pool, tile as well as other scopes
Job Overview
A Concrete Senior Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of concrete construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. Key duties typically include:
- Project Management: Plan, schedule, and supervise all phases of concrete construction from start to finish, which includes managing budgets, timelines, and quality control.
- Crew Supervision: Lead and coordinate concrete crews, subcontractors, and other site personnel, providing training and maintaining productivity.
- Scheduling and Coordination: Organize material, equipment, and workforce deliveries, maintain project schedules, and adjust as necessary to meet deadlines.
- Quality Control: Ensure construction meets or exceeds specified standards, arrange for necessary testing, and address quality issues promptly.
- Safety: Enforce safety regulations, conduct safety meetings, and create a work environment compliant with OSHA and company safety policies.
- Problem Solving: Identify issues early, implement solutions, and document project changes as needed.
- Client Communication: Maintain open communication with clients and stakeholders, addressing concerns and providing updates throughout the project.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records such as daily logs, schedules, change orders, and cost tracking.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in concrete construction, including supervisory roles (10+ years of mid-rise and/or high-rise required, including at last 5+ years is a supervisory role).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and project specifications.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with construction management software is often preferred.
- Knowledge of industry standards, OSHA requirements, and job site safety.
