POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

THE ROLE

The Construction Services Associate Project Manager is responsible for the planning, design and construction or renovation of the State's buildings and facilities. This individual operates in one of four teams supporting 24 State agencies and are collectively responsible for a portfolio of over $1,600,000,000.

The Construction Services Associate Project Managers are the owner's representatives of the State and manage contracts, schedules, budgets, designs, construction contracts related to assigned projects. In addition, they are assigned projects with a maximum individual value of 40 million dollars and may assist a Construction Services Project Manager with day-to-day execution and coordination of larger projects.

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)

In the Department of Administrative Services this class is accountable for overseeing and coordinating all phases of assigned capital design and construction projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE

Eight (8) years of experience in the design and construction of commercial, industrial or institutional structures involving any combination of the following:



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SPECIAL EXPERIENCE

One (1) year of the General Experience must have included performing the most complex duties in the area of engineering or coordinating all phases of design for state buildings including the architectural, engineering, cost review, equipment and physical operations.

NOTE: For state employees this experience is interpreted at the level of a Construction Services Assistant Project Manager.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Incumbents in this class may be exposed to some risk of injury or physical harm from construction site environments and a moderate degree from year-round weather conditions.
