CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT - COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS The Superintendent is responsible for managing company field forces in accordance with OSHA standards, monitoring the performance of all direct subcontractor activities, supporting field personnel, overseeing quality control, and ensuring project deadlines are consistently met. Essential Functions Monitor field production to ensure compliance with the schedule, track materials and deliveries accurately, and enforce quality standards. Maintain job site performance according to the Project Manager’s directions and ensure daily activities align with the work schedule. Inspect job materials thoroughly, verifying correct size, style, and absence of damage or flaws. Document material deliveries, installation progress, delays, work tickets, and daily reports. Validate work scope, installation products, locations, and estimated completion times; coordinate with the Project Manager and manage customer expectations. Review deficiencies and errors, working with customers to resolve issues or clarify details. Attend startup, daily foremen’s, and weekly progress meetings. Build rapport with the customer’s field management team. Review drawings and specifications against shop drawings for accuracy and completeness. Ensure safety procedures are followed and maintain a clean work site. Close out installations by instructing customers on product care, warranties, and contact information for service or questions. Adhere to OSHA and MOSHA safety standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Extensive experience with building enclosure components, interior carpentry, and exterior products. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, decision-making ability, and capacity to work independently or as part of a team. Experience with large-scale commercial and institutional projects. Ability to interpret contract documents, blueprints, and engineering requirements. Skilled in project takeoffs and estimates. Proficiency in MS Office, Bluebeam, Google Docs, Viewpoint, or similar software. Leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask under pressure. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, and strong teamwork abilities. Dependability in meeting attendance, schedule, and production deadlines. Proficient in the use of hand and power tools. Education, Training, and Experience Relevant education and experience demonstrating knowledge of commercial building project management. Minimum OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications. Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and applicable federal and state building codes. Spanish language skills are a plus. Work Context Work near moving mechanical parts and outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to lift over 50 lbs, stand and walk for long periods, and perform strenuous physical tasks. Flexibility to travel and stay out of town for up to a week. Manual dexterity and coordination required, including the use of tools. Work environment involves loud noise levels and typical construction hazards. Must pass respirator physical and fit testing if required. Special Requirements Valid state driver’s license required or ability to obtain one.
