The Project Superintendent is responsible for overseeing project execution in the field, including safety compliance, production, quality control, and daily coordination of construction activities. This role requires leadership, clear communication, and a deep understanding of concrete construction. The Superintendent will work closely with field personnel, project management, and clients to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.

• Promote and enforce the organization’s core values and a strong safety culture across all project sites.

• Ensure Foremen complete daily huddles, manage PPE use, and conduct monthly toolbox safety talks.

• Coordinate daily and weekly schedules, manpower planning, and equipment requirements with project managers and field teams.

• Confirm concrete orders are placed in a timely manner: 48-hour minimum lead time for standard pours and 4 days for larger placements (60+ CY).

• Monitor all aspects of project execution to meet contract requirements and control change orders, material overages, and quality issues.

• Collaborate with dispatch to establish labor productivity goals based on project estimates.

• Oversee pre-placement planning and support Foremen in optimizing efficiency and quality.

• Maintain effective communication with general contractors, clients, and local jurisdiction inspectors.

• Supervise equipment and vehicle inspections, ensuring all field assets are in good working order.

• Report field updates, safety concerns, and quality issues to the General Superintendent.

• Train and mentor Foremen, providing guidance on field productivity and personnel development.

• Support the hiring process and contribute to performance evaluations as needed.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction as a Foreman or Superintendent, preferably in concrete.

• Experience with heavy equipment operations and maintenance.

• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.

• Proficiency in concrete flatwork practices and related tools/equipment.

• Familiarity with electronics and jobsite safety protocols.

• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate field crews.

• Ability to interpret grades and construction plans accurately.

• Travel to job sites may be required.

• Irregular work hours including early mornings, weekends, and shift work.

• Exposure to all weather and job site conditions (e.g., noise, dust, mud, heat, cold).

• Frequent physical activity including walking, climbing, stooping, and lifting up to 50 lbs (occasionally over 100 lbs).

• Visual requirements include near/far vision, depth perception, and color recognition.
