The Superintendent Position

A key leader on the construction site, the Superintendent is responsible for the daily coordination and supervision of all field operations. This hands-on role includes managing subcontractors and self-perform crews, enforcing safety protocols, coordinating schedules, resolving field issues, and maintaining accurate project documentation.

Working in collaboration with the Project Manager, the Superintendent leads planning efforts, conducts coordination meetings, ensures compliance with project scope and contracts, supports cost control efforts, and represents the company in meetings with owners, architects, and subcontractors. The role requires a proactive mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead teams while navigating complex construction environments.

Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities of the Superintendent

  • 10+ years of construction experience with direct field supervision is required
  • Prior experience working on institutional/educational projects is required
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings across all trades
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Procore, and scheduling software (P6 or Microsoft Project)
  • OSHA 30 certification required
