Job Overview

This position is for a Construction Superintendent to supervise and manage a wide range of construction project trades, specs, details, and reports, with a focus on quality control from preconstruction to project completion. The Superintendent will organize and oversee all construction trades and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner according to the provided plans, specs, scopes, and schedules. The main focus of the projects in this role will be in Multifamily New Construction (renovation and ground up) sector.

An excellent Construction Superintendent must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures with the ability to coordinate a team of professionals from different disciplines to achieve the best results. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind, a firm understanding of critical path methodology, great organizational skills, and be solution oriented. This candidate must also have renovation, new construction and ground-up construction experience.

The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to contractual schedule requirements and without exceeding the set budget while maintaining exceptional quality and customer service standards.

Responsibilities for a Construction Superintendent:


  • Be confident in the strategic planning phase of upcoming projects through becoming familiar with plans and specs.
  • Assist our project management team in the execution of the management plan and project schedule for assigned projects, in all phases and aspects to ensure all deadlines are met and the project is on schedule and within budget.
  • Provide knowledgeable support to the field labor force.
  • Prepare project meeting agendas and associated attachments as necessary.
  • Prepare project updates and look ahead plans (2 weeks) on all tasks and schedules.
  • Maintains compliance with all applicable commercial building codes.
  • Verify all checklists are completed and inspections are scheduled and passed.
  • Accept and manage deliveries.
  • Proven leadership in safety to ensure all safety guidelines are followed per OSHA.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple crews on site daily.
  • Provide solid communication to architects, colleagues/superiors, owners, local authorities, inspectors, and subcontractors.
  • Proficient with technology such as smart phones, tablets, Microsoft Office, MSProjects, and Procore.
  • Capacity to travel if needed and stay out of town for the extent of a project.
  • Be a master of communication and have an advance ability to deescalate situations where conflicts may arise on a construction jobsite.
Qualifications for Construction Superintendent:

  • Highschool diploma or GED required
  • Construction superintendent experience: 3 years minimum (Required)
  • Metal building (PEMB) experience is a plus.
  • Ground up construction experience
  • Fluency in English. Spanish is a plus.
  • Clear driver's license (Required)
  • Own vehicle (Required)
  • Strong communication skills in English including reading and writing. (Required)
  • Ability to read analyze plans, specs, scopes, and sub proposals.
  • Ability to perform takeoffs, jobsite layouts, and QAQC checks.
  • OSHA certified (Required)
  • Heavy equipment operator certified (Preferred)
  • Multi-family experience (Preferred)
  • Strong conflict management skills and a high level of assertiveness
  • Detail Oriented
Physical Demands:

Physical ability to safely walk a construction jobsite, including the ability to climb and negotiate temporary scaffolding, stairs, and ladders. This position may require constant physical effort throughout an 8-hour work shift. Has ability to work with hand and power tools for periods of time.

Additional Information:

  • Work will include travel to job sites and around the country depending on the assignment.
