Chicagoland General Contractor is seeking a _*Construction Superintendent *_that will be responsible for overseeing projects in the Chicagoland/Midwest region. This position will require an understanding of various construction & project management skills and should be able to oversee the day-to-day activities of multiple construction projects.You can get further details about the nature of this opening, and what is expected from applicants, by reading the below.*Job Responsibilities:** Coordinate, plan, and supervise project field activities with Subcontractors, Labors, and Tradesmen.* Enforce the company’s safety policies and maintain a climate that emphasizes on-site safety in compliance with OSHA standards.* Develop, enhance, and maintain client relationships.* Prepare and implement project schedule and 3 week look ahead; frequently update & review schedule and 3 week look ahead.* Maintain quality control by regular inspection of work in progress and completed projects.* Ensure site maintains a standard of cleanliness – waste/trash disposal as needed.* Develop and implement site utilization plan.* Exhibits sound, accurate, and professional judgment.* Monitor site project to ensure it is constructed per plans and specifications.* Prepare punch-list checklist for each project and all punch list have been completed.* Manage project close-out and final documentation.* Coordinate city inspections and ensure inspections are approved, documented, and communicated to Project Team.* Attend & coordinate weekly meetings as needed (safety, owner, progress, close-out, etc).*Desired Skills & Qualifications** Minimum 5-7 years industry experience for a General Contractor or Construction Management Company* Strong interpersonal, leadership, supervisory, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.* Proficient in Microsoft Office / Microsoft Project preferred but not required.* Working knowledge of field construction and its systems, practices, safety, and procedures.* Ability to interpret construction documents.* Knowledge of basic scheduling techniques and ability to create project schedule(s).* 30 hour OSHA certification preferred.* Carpenter skills a plus.* Driver’s license required and ability to travel from site to site in and around the Midwest region.
