Premier provides architecture, design, procurement, engineering development and project management services to hotels. This includes implementing capital improvements for properties owned by Ashford Hospitality Trust (NYSE: AHT) and Braemar Hotels and Resorts (NYSE: BHR), and other 3rd party hotel ownership groups.
Position Summary
As a representative of the hotel owner, the Construction Superintendent plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of renovation and new construction projects. This individual will ensure projects are executed according to plans, schedules, and quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This "traveling" manager will be onsite interacting with various stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of construction tasks.
Responsibilities
Oversee and coordinate all construction site activities according to the project plans and site logistics.
Direct and oversee the daily operation of all subcontractors, tradesmen, and laborers in a way that achieves successful completion of the project while adhering to the project schedule.
Ensure all work is completed per contract requirements and quality standards.
Conduct regular punch walks with subcontractors and provide direction on actions required to complete scope.
Provide consistent updates and daily/weekly reports to the hotel operations teams and direct management.
Responsible for inventory of all equipment and supplies as required for the successful renovation.
Conduct scope and schedule review with hotel operations team.
Ensure minimal guest disruption by establishing stealth renovation of the property.
Participates in weekly project status conference call with internal team.
Perform regular quality checks of ongoing production to minimize rework/call backs, giving corrective direction to subcontractors when needed.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized, job site throughout the day-to-day operations.
Requirements: Minimum 5 years of Hotel Renovation superintendent experience working in hospitality renovation construction trades.
Extensive knowledge of established construction and maintenance practices, procedures, and techniques as well as applicable local, State and Federal building codes and legislation.
Knowledge of ADA guidelines is highly preferred.
Familiarity with a wide range of equipment and tools and proficiency in skilled construction, maintenance, and repair tasks.
Strong communications skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to read and interpret design, architectural, structural and MEP plans.
95% travel required.
