Construction Supervisor

Vertiv is seeking a highly experienced and driven Construction Supervisor to oversee the execution of large-scale data center construction projects across the United States. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the on-site construction process, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety standards, budgets, and timelines. This position demands strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of mission-critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight: Manage all aspects of construction from site preparation through commissioning for large-scale data center projects.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee general contractors, subcontractors, and third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Schedule and Budget Management: Monitor construction schedules and budgets, providing regular updates to stakeholders and taking corrective action as needed.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all construction work complies with company standards, client requirements, and applicable codes and regulations.
  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and manage potential risks, safety issues, and design conflicts; implement mitigation strategies promptly.
  • Client Interaction: Act as a point of contact for clients on construction-related matters, fostering a professional relationship through clear communication and problem-solving.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, punch lists, daily reports, and project closeout materials.
  • Commissioning Support: Work with commissioning agents and Vertiv engineering teams to ensure systems are fully tested and operational before handover.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of construction management experience, with at least 3 years focused on mission-critical or data center projects.
  • Strong understanding of MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) systems and civil/structural construction.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale construction projects with values exceeding $5M.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction safety practices and OSHA regulations.
  • Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, CX Alloy, Primavera, MS Project).
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the U.S. and remain on-site for extended durations.
  • Preferred Qualifications: PMP, CCM, or equivalent construction/project management certifications.
  • Experience with prefabrication, modular builds, or fast-track construction methodologies.
  • Previous experience working for or with Vertiv or similar data center infrastructure providers.

Time Travel Required

  • 50% travel
