Construction Supervisor

Provide leadership and direction to the Construction workgroup to ensure both employees and contractors utilize the capital project process. The supervisor must be able to assign, manage and monitor work of company employees and contract crews. Visit job sites in all types of weather conditions and different types of terrain. Ensure work is performed in a safe manner while meeting construction specifications. Interfaces with a number of distribution departments and other departments within the Company while dealing with the financial consideration of each job assignment.

Manages distribution construction projects while meeting budget obligations. Tracks and controls the construction phase of projects, including costs, schedule, and construction quality. Develops formal construction plans and proactive mitigation plans. Reports variances from process, project scope and/or design that affect safety, quality, cost, schedule, or customer satisfaction. Accountable for motivating a diverse and geographically dispersed Entergy and Contractor work force dealing with a wide variety of safety and training issues. Leads teams to achieve operational excellence by: 1) setting and communicating aggressive performance expectations, 2) learning/teaching process improvements, 3) measuring/monitoring performance levels, 4) providing feedback positive/negative and coaching performance improvements to employees. Responsible for training and development of employees and contractors to ensure safe execution of projects. Drives company and contractor safety management initiatives.

Attends/audits safety tailboard meetings, frequently visits jobsites, and ensures appropriate outages are scheduled per Transmission outage coordination process. Responsible to recognize hazards in the workplace and have the ability to mitigate the hazards. Reviews contractor invoicing for accuracy, verifies charges are correct as per contracts rates and terms. Responsible for attending Pre-Design and Pre-Construction meetings to promote productive design and construction. Responsible for the recording of completed work within Entergy systems, keep and manage all records, design As-Built, complete Time & Labor entry. Ensures proper maintenance and care of Company equipment.

Minimum education required of the position: High school diploma or equivalent work experience. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Minimum experience required of the position: 7+ years' experience in work-related field (Transmission, Distribution, or Engineering). Strong knowledge of computers and related technology. Experience in managing/executing capital projects. Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
