Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet customers upon arrival and provide friendly, knowledgeable service related to concrete products and materials.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, handling payments and maintaining customer records.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales counter and product displays.
- Collaborate with the inventory team to monitor stock levels, ensuring products are available for customer orders.
- Work closely with the dispatch team to coordinate timely deliveries of concrete materials.
- Keep up to date with industry trends, new concrete products, and best practices to provide expert guidance to customers.
- Address customer concerns and complaints in a professional, positive manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Follow safety protocols and company procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Previous experience in counter sales, preferably in the concrete, construction, or building materials industry (required).
- Strong knowledge of concrete materials, mixes, additives, and construction tools.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with contractors, homeowners, and other customers.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic office software (Microsoft Office, etc.).
- Valid drivers license (preferred, for occasional delivery coordination).
- Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a constantly evolving industry.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to concrete and construction materials.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the store.
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, twist, and reach to retrieve products or assist customers.
- Occasional use of equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks (training provided).
- A fast-paced retail environment with frequent customer interaction.
- Exposure to concrete products, dust, and construction materials.
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor conditions, depending on customer needs and weather.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves and safety shoes, may be required for certain tasks.
